Five research clusters
DeLCA project is running in the following five research clusters in parallel to achieve the objectives.
1. Climate
1-1. Projection of future urban climates
Urban climates in major cities of Indonesia for 2030, in consideration of global warming and urban heat islands, are projected.
1-2. Development of standard weather data
Standard weather data for present and future (2030) are developed in major cities of Indonesia, and the development skills are transferred to the implementing agencies.
2. Human
2-1. Adaptive thermal comfort standards
New thermal comfort standards for the tropics are developed.
2-2. Indoor air quality
Ventilation standards for indoor air quality (IAQ) in public apartments are developed.
3. Building
3-1. Low-carbon cooling techniques
Comprehensive low-carbon techniques for affordable apartments in Indonesia are developed.
4. Energy
4-1. LCE/LCCO2
Nationwide comprehensive data profiles of building material inventory and operational energy for apartments in Indonesia are developed.
5. Implementation
5-1. Implementation project in the town of Tegal
The developed low-carbon cooling techniques are proposed to be incorporated in building codes and guidelines, etc. for the construction of affordable public apartments with a total floor area of more than 2,000 sqm in the town of Tegal.
